Local Hospice Nationally Recognized
For the third time since 2011, and for the second year in a row, Heart ‘n Home Hospice & Palliative Care has been nationally recognized as a “Top 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare,” a program sponsored by Modern Healthcare that distinguishes outstanding employers in the healthcare industry.
“It is such an honor and pleasure to work with Heart ‘n Home staff! They are the reason we are a Best Place to Work! It’s their commitment, love, and passion for our patients and our mission that makes it all work.” Says, Kristopher Stice, Heart ‘n Home Senior Vice President of Human Resources/Owner.
The 2014 banquet was held in Chicago on October 23rd and Todd and Sarah Stice accepted the award. After, Todd said, “Heart ‘n Home is thrilled to receive this award now three times. It shows us that we are improving, growing, doing better, and BEING better. At the same time, we know that success sometimes has a funny way of creating complacency. At Heart ‘n Home, we want to celebrate, express gratitude to our employees, and at the same time make plans to be better. We are a Top 100 Best Place to Work because we WANT to be a great place to work, our employees’ satisfaction means everything to us … and that will never change.”
Here is what some of the employees had to say about working at Heart ‘n Home:
- “At Heart ‘n Home, employees are just as important as patients.”
- “On my first day with Heart ‘n Home all I saw was smiles, all I experienced was friendly attitudes, and that has continued since then.”
- “Heart ‘n Home has the highest work standards I’ve seen. We are a big work family.”
- “The training I’ve received at Heart ‘n Home has not only provided me with the knowledge, information, and tools to perform my job well, it has also been beneficial to my personal and family life. It is absolutely evident that this company takes an interest in the employee as a whole and I am beyond satisfied.”
According to Stice, a major contributing factor to Heart ‘n Home’s Top 100 achievement is the company’s Family Core Values, a set of principles employees incorporate into their professional and personal lives. He said, “Ours is a family-owned company built on family values. The direct result is a work environment that feels safe, supportive, loving, and positive. In an industry that is often emotionally taxing, Heart ‘n Home employees know that even when situations are difficult, they will get all the support they need. That is why we continue to do what we do … every day, every time! ” –Todd A. Stice, Heart ‘n Home Senior Vice President of Finance/Owner.
