As a caregiver, with all your added responsibilities you may be putting your own health and happiness on hold. There are probably days when you feel like you’ve “lost yourself.” You’re not alone. Many caregivers feel that way.
While these five tips may be helpful, the healthcare system can still can be incredibly challenging to navigate. And it is all the more difficult at a time when you may be overcome with stress, fear or feelings of vulnerability.
physician’s-asssitant-week-2014In the early morning of October 7, hundreds of people in white coats and scrubs will gather in NYCs Rockefeller Plaza to display signs and wave for the camera on NBCs “Today” show. They are Physician’s Assistants (PA) and PA students and will jump for Matt Lauer’s attention, and possibly a handshake, to raise awareness for their profession as part of an annual commemoration, National PA Week (October 6-12, 2014), sponsored by the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Due to life expectancies increasing, many people are suddenly finding themselves the caregiver of their elderly parent.
